OVERVIEW
The Saturday Enrichment Experience is a grant-funded program for select schools that provides targeted tutoring for students in grades K-5 for select schools . It is a dedicated initiative that provides specialized support in math, reading, and science. Academic enrichment will be a focal point, including literacy circles, STEM challenges, robotics, math games, and other instructional extensions that align with grade-level standards and reinforce in-school learning. By offering specialized enrichment on Saturdays, we are committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed academically.
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Site Facilitator, the SEE Instructor provides supplemental instruction to identified students in small groups. This position is contingent upon student enrollment and attendance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Instruct students according to the appropriate curriculum that includes assessment and review processes. Plan, develop, and implement lesson plans in keeping with school district and state education requirements.
- Work in collaboration with staff and other teachers.
- Comply with and enforce school rules and school board policies and procedures.
- Attend each identified Saturday session in its entirety.
- Maintain student data and progress documentation.
- Attend training and data sessions.
- Perform other school duties and assignments as appointed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement.
- Must have extensive successful experience in instruction, as evidenced by student performance data on standardized assessments.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
January 2026 through April 2026; 5 hours per day (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
