Overview:
A Paraeducator at Danville Community School District supports teachers and students in a variety of instructional and non-instructional tasks. Instructional Support:
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction, including small group and one-on-one support.

- Support students with assignments, projects, and activities to reinforce learning objectives.
Student Assistance:
- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Assist with monitoring and supporting student behavior and social interactions.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and during school events.
Classroom Management:
- Help maintain a positive and organized classroom environment.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Support teachers in implementing classroom rules, routines, and procedures.
Assessment and Documentation:
- Assist in the assessment of student progress by administering and scoring tests, quizzes, and other assessments.
- Record and maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress.
- Provide feedback to teachers regarding student achievements and areas needing improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff to support student learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
Support Services:
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Provide support during transitions between classes, activities, and settings.
- Help with the supervision and assistance of students during arrival and dismissal times.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.
- The position requires working in a school environment, both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to handle the physical demands of working with children, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to respond to the needs of students promptly and effectively.
- Adapt to the changing needs of the school and students.
