Danville Community School District is seeking a High School Mathematics Teacher responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in mathematics to students in grades 9-12. Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa Teaching License required
- Valid endorsement in 5-12 Mathematics or Secondary Mathematics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education or related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage students in learning.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth.
Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum:
- Teach courses such as Alegebra 1, Geometry, Applied Math (as assigned)
- Develop and implement standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with state and district curriculum standards
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials and assessments that accomodate diverse learning styles
- Evaluate and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments
Classroom & Program Management:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic performance
- Establish and enforce classroom rules to create a positive and respectful learning environment
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents/guardians
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans
Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional learning to remain current with best practices in music education.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school functions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to support student success
