Coordinator II: Instructional Enrichment

General Definition Of Work
The Instructional Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring targeted academic supports that accelerate achievement for students identified as at-risk. This role ensures that all supplemental services are data-driven, aligned to core instruction (HQIM), and result in measurable student growth.

A central function of this role includes the intentional integration of cross-curricular literacy and mathematics within Fine Arts and Physical Education to address critical SOL gaps in Danville Public Schools. The coordinator ensures that enrichment opportunities extend beyond traditional academic settings and leverage all content areas as vehicles for improving student achievement.

This position serves as a systems leader, not a tutor, and is accountable for the effectiveness of intervention and enrichment programming across the division.

Essential Functions
1. Instructional Leadership for Intervention & Enrichment
Design and oversee Tier 2 and Tier 3 instructional supports aligned to core curriculum and HQIM
Lead the development and implementation of intervention blocks during the school day
Coordinate summer and extended learning enrichment programs
Develop, implement, and monitor districtwide cross-curricular instructional frameworks in Fine Arts and Physical Education that integrate literacy and mathematics aligned to identified SOL gaps
Ensure enrichment programming across all content areas reinforces priority reading and mathematics standards through structured, standards-aligned instructional practices

2. Data-Driven Student Identification & Progress Monitoring
Analyze multiple data sources (e.g., SOL, VALLSS, benchmark assessments) to identify students in need of intervention
Develop and adjust student groupings based on data
Disaggregate data to identify specific literacy and numeracy gaps that can be addressed through cross-curricular enrichment, including Fine Arts and Physical Education
Establish and lead biweekly progress monitoring cycles to evaluate the impact of both academic and cross-curricular supports
Use data to recommend targeted instructional adjustments across core, intervention, and enrichment settings

3. Staff Coordination & Instructional Support
Coordinate and support tutors, paraprofessionals, and intervention staff
Support teachers with differentiated instruction strategies and small-group planning
Provide coaching and professional learning to Fine Arts and Physical Education teachers on integrating literacy and mathematics strategies aligned to SOL expectations
Collaborate with school leadership and instructional coaches to ensure consistency in cross-curricular implementation and alignment to division priorities

4. Family Engagement & Student Support
Communicate with families of identified students regarding academic progress and available supports
Provide families with resources that reinforce literacy and mathematics development, including strategies connected to enrichment and cross-curricular experiences
Increase student participation in enrichment opportunities, including Fine Arts and Physical Education programs designed to support academic growth aligned to SOL priorities

5. Program Management & Federal Program Compliance
Ensure all programming meets Federal Program guidelines and allowable use of funds
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all enrichment programs, including cross-curricular initiatives in Fine Arts and Physical Education tied to SOL outcomes
Maintain accurate records of student participation, program effectiveness, and resource allocation
Support the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan, ensuring alignment between Title I programming, academic interventions, and cross-curricular strategies

6. Additional Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of MTSS, intervention frameworks, and differentiated instruction
Ability to analyze and act on student performance data
Knowledge of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) implementation
Demonstrated expertise in cross-curricular literacy and mathematics integration within Fine Arts and Physical Education to support academic achievement
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to lead adults and manage multiple programs simultaneously

Education and Experience
Required
Valid Virginia teaching license (or state equivalent)
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience, including experience in high-need schools/divisions

Preferred
Demonstrated experience with intervention strategies and data analysis
Experience in instructional coaching or adult learning facilitation
Knowledge of Title I compliance requirements

Measurable student growth for identified students (Tier 2 and Tier 3)
Increased percentage of students moving toward or achieving grade-level proficiency
Demonstrated impact of cross-curricular literacy and mathematics integration within Fine Arts and Physical Education on closing SOL gaps

High participation rates in summer learning programs

100% of Title I enrichment/intervention teachers receiving structured coaching support

Physical Conditions and Work Contacts
Work is typically performed throughout the school division. Lifting up to 40 pounds and other limited physical activities are required. Daily contact may include students, teachers, parents and administrators.

Terms of Employment
12 months (260 days); at least 8 hours per day

Evaluation
Performance evaluation will be conducted annually by the Director of Curriculum 7 Instruction on the effectiveness by which the employee has carried out the above responsibilities.

Salary : $95,625 - $138,617
