Elementary Math Specialist - Grant Funded
This position reports to the Elementary Curriculum Director

Job Summary
The Math Specialist provides targeted small-group and individualized mathematics instruction to support students in need of additional academic support, while also demonstrating instructional leadership and coaching to enhance the quality of mathematics teaching and learning. This role also supports teachers through professional development, curriculum implementation, data analysis, and classroom-based coaching to increase student achievement in mathematics.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
Use assessment data to identify student needs and monitor progress.
Implement evidence-based intervention programs and strategies.
Deliver small-group and one-on-one math interventions aligned to grade-level standards.
Maintain documentation of student progress and communicate results.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators.
Curriculum & Assessment
Support implementation and alignment of mathematics curriculum with state standards.
Assist in the development and use of formative and summative assessments.
Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
Support the integration of mathematical practices, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
Instructional Coaching & Support
Collaborate with teachers to plan, model, and reflect on effective mathematics instruction.
Provide job-embedded coaching, including co-teaching, lesson observation, and feedback cycles.
Support the use of research-based instructional strategies and best practices in mathematics.
Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Professional Development, Leadership & Collaboration
Design and facilitate professional learning for teachers and staff focused on mathematics instruction.
Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative planning.
Share current research and trends in mathematics education.
Serve as a resource and advocate for effective mathematics instruction within the school or district.
Collaborate with administrators to support instructional goals and improvement plans.
