Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, joy filled student-centered High School Spanish Teacher to join the Danvers High School learning community. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition, cultural understanding, and a love of learning. This position emphasizes proficiency-based instruction aligned with Massachusetts World Language standards. If the candidate speaks French as well that is a plus but not necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging Spanish instruction for students in grades 9-12
- Design lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for World Languages
- Incorporate all modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs and English learners
- Use culturally responsive teaching practices to connect language learning with real-world contexts
- Develop and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
- Use data to inform instruction and provide targeted support
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Establish a positive, structured classroom culture that promotes risk-taking and language use
- Set clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement
- Foster student independence and collaboration
- Collaborate with common planning teams, special education staff, and related service providers
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and common planning time
- Communicate effectively with families about student progress
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Salary : $61,187 - $120,066
