DANTE DRIVING SCHOOL is preparing to launch a professional driving school in College Park, Maryland. Our mission is to help students develop safe, confident, and responsible driving habits through structured classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. Employment and the anticipated start date are subject to completion of all required Maryland MVA approvals.
Position Summary
DANTE DRIVING SCHOOL is seeking a patient, dependable, and safety-focused Maryland-certified driving instructor for a part-time, on-site position. The instructor will provide classroom and behind-the-wheel driver education in accordance with Maryland MVA requirements and DANTE policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instruction.
- Teach Maryland traffic laws, defensive-driving principles, vehicle operation, and roadway safety.
- Demonstrate driving maneuvers and coach students during practical lessons.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Complete student records, lesson logs, attendance records, and required documentation accurately.
- Inspect the training vehicle before lessons and promptly report safety or maintenance concerns.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents or guardians, and DANTE staff.
- Maintain a patient, respectful, and safety-focused learning environment.
- Follow all Maryland MVA regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Current Maryland MVA driving instructor certification.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of Maryland traffic laws and safe-driving practices.
- Strong communication, teaching, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work patiently with students from different backgrounds and experience levels.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and attentive to documentation.
- Availability for part-time weekday, evening, and/or weekend assignments.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
