Responsibilities
As a TIG Welder at DCWI, you will weld, assemble, and fabricate aerospace components using advanced TIG techniques. Your responsibilities include utilizing precision calibrated tools such as micrometers, and calipers, and performing all tasks in strict adherence to DCWI's procedures, specifications, and quality standards. You will read and interpret technical drawings, follow detailed work instructions, and operate equipment such as forklifts and cranes as needed. Additional duties include maintaining a clean and efficient work environment, and performing blending, filing, and preparation of metal piece parts to ensure components meet the highest levels of aerospace grade craftsmanship.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, or titanium
- Experience welding with .030" - .500" thickness
- Certifications such as AWS D17.1
- Preferred Skills and Experience
- 5 years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, or titanium
- Experience with aerospace TIG welding
- Proficiency in cutting, grinding, and fabrication
- Skilled in blueprint reading and layout
- Proven ability to complete visual and X-ray/dye-penetrant weld inspections
- Certifications such as AWS D17.1 and D1.2
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts
Additional Requirements
- Open to working different shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift at least 25 Ibs unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum 8 hours)
- Capable of stooping, bending, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces
Compensation and Benefits
Pay range:
- TIG Welder/Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hour
- TIG Welder/Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hour
- TIG Welder/Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour
Actual level and salary will be determined based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
