Inspector Coordinator

Overview

The Inspection Advisor II (Inspection Coordinator) is responsible for coordinating and overseeing field inspection activities across multiple sites to support asset integrity programs. This role serves as the primary communication link between internal integrity teams and third-party inspection contractors. The position ensures that inspection work is executed safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The Inspection Coordinator provides technical guidance, manages inspection workflows, and ensures that equipment inspection records remain current and compliant.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the focal point for scheduling, directing, and supervising third-party inspectors.

• Coordinate daily inspection activities, workforce planning, and logistics across multiple field sites.

• Ensure inspection work follows approved procedures, NDE techniques, and industry standards.

• Promote and enforce safety policies and maintain strong safety culture in all inspection activities.

• Validate that inspection personnel, equipment, and techniques meet qualification requirements.

• Provide expert-level support in tank, vessel, piping, and fixed equipment inspection.

• Review inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with procedures.

• Identify inconsistencies or deviations in work practices and escalate as needed.

• Support the development, review, and revision of inspection procedures, test equipment, and method statements.

• Assist with reviewing drawings, technical plans, and inspection scopes to ensure compliance with standards.

• Act as the primary liaison between inspection contractors and internal integrity leadership.

• Provide performance feedback on third-party inspection personnel.

• Support supplier and contractor quality management activities, including audits and assessments.

• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to align inspection requirements with project needs.

• Ensure that all inspection data, findings, and equipment histories are updated in CMMS systems.

• Report inspection findings and status updates to internal integrity leads.

• Maintain documentation, inspection records, and quality control files.

• Provide early identification and escalation of potential quality or integrity issues.

• Perform surveillance and quality verification activities in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments.

• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), punch list resolution, and equipment release activities.

• Travel to field and project sites as needed to support inspection activities or resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of oil & gas industry experience, with at least 3 years in inspection coordination, asset integrity, or inspection management.
• API 653 Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector Certification required. 
• API 510 Pressure Bessel Inspector Certification preferred. 
• API 570 – Piping Inspector, NDE Level II or III in UT, MT, PT, RT preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent industry experience accepted. 

• Strong knowledge of inspection codes and standards.

• Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test, MVR check, and fit for duty/agility test.
