Overview:
The Commercial Strategy Specialist IV will support the Supply Chain Staffing and Corporate Services team. This role has category ownership responsibility for Consulting & Engineering, Office Facilities Maintenance & Construction, and Aviation Services within the Corporate Services portfolio. The ideal candidate is customer‑focused, commercially astute, and thrives in a dynamic environment. Success in this role requires strong relationship‑building skills, strategic sourcing expertise, and the ability to deliver measurable value through effective contract management and supplier partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage categories for Consulting & Engineering and Aviation Services contracts supporting domestic onshore and offshore oil & gas operations.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle by advising business proponents on best‑fit vendors, executing contracts, and evaluating supplier performance.
- Execute new contracts, term extensions, commercial amendments, and competitive sourcing events, including RFPs, as required.
- Serve as the central point of contact between business unit proponents, vendor representatives, Supply Chain, Legal, Risk, and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare, submit, analyze, and negotiate contract terms and conditions, including master service agreements, commercial terms, and purchase orders, with Legal support.
- Collaborate with business and functional leadership to establish and execute sourcing strategies that drive value creation and business alignment.
- Pre‑qualify new suppliers and re‑qualify existing suppliers, ensuring full compliance with the HES Contractor Safety Program.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers to assess capabilities, availability, cost competitiveness, and performance.
- Manage key supplier relationships through quarterly business reviews, supplier scorecards, and KPI tracking.
- Communicate sourcing strategies, policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes clearly and consistently to internal stakeholders.
- Perform sourcing, contracting, and supplier management activities within SAP and Ariba systems, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier registration, sourcing strategy execution, contract development, implementation, and close‑out.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through commercial analysis, performance monitoring, and data‑driven decision making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
- 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or contract management
- Strong knowledge of procure‑to‑pay processes, contract management best practices, supplier vetting, sourcing strategies, commercial analysis, and negotiations
- Demonstrated experience drafting, analyzing, and negotiating contracts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time‑management, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Proven ability to work independently with sound judgment
- Comfortable managing and adapting to change
- Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
