At Danny Wimmer Presents, we don’t just put on festivals—we create unforgettable experiences where music, fans, and brands come together in epic ways! As the Executive Creative Director, Experience, you will be the inaugural leader charged with building DWP’s new internal creative production agency from the ground up. You will lead the on-site creative vision and physical brand expression of our festival portfolio, shaping how each brand comes to life through environmental storytelling, art direction, immersive design, landmark moments, and guest experiences that capture the spirit of Rock & Roll while setting a new benchmark for live event creativity. You will partner closely with Production, Marketing, Sponsorship, Operations, and Executive Leadership to turn ambitious ideas into bold, buildable realities that honor creative vision, fan experience, and budget discipline.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead the creative direction of the on-site festival experience across the portfolio
Define and evolve each festival’s visual language, atmosphere, and environmental identity
Ensure every brand feels distinct, culturally relevant, and true to its audience
Protect the spirit and soul of each festival while pushing it forward year after year
Translate brand narratives into physical spaces, emotional moments, and immersive guest journeys
Shape how fans discover, move through, and connect with the grounds from arrival to exit
Create spaces that feel intentional, memorable, and effective
Ensure consistency and quality across all guest-facing touchpoints
Design experiences that deepen fandom beyond the music itself
Develop signature creative moments that become symbols of the festival
Lead the creation of entrances, scenic environments, art installations, gathering points, and visual magnets that drive movement and engagement
Deliver high-impact spaces people photograph, share, and remember
Work with and collaborate closely with Concessions, Food & Beverage, VIP, and Operations teams to elevate bars, beverage areas, food halls, concessions, lounges, and hospitality spaces across the grounds
Help transform transactional areas into branded environments that feel intentional, inviting, and aligned with the festival experience
Support the creation of high-energy destinations that increase dwell time, engagement, and revenue opportunities
Partner with Marketing to align campaign storytelling with the live experience
Collaborate with Sponsorship teams to integrate partners in ways that feel authentic to the brand
Work alongside Production and Operations to ensure concepts are executable, safe, and efficient
Influence executive stakeholders with strong vision, clarity, and creative conviction
Lead creative planning within approved budgets and timelines
Prioritize investment toward the highest-impact guest experiences
Balance ambition, feasibility, durability, and ROI without sacrificing quality
Make smart tradeoffs that preserve the creative soul of the experience
Build and lead a team of internal employees and external agencies, freelancers, fabricators, and design partners
Build a culture of originality, urgency, excellence, and accountability
Establish creative standards, processes, and systems that scale across multiple events
Mentor talent and raise the level of creative output across the organization
Ensure environments never feel stale or repetitive
Lead post-event reviews and identify opportunities for improvement
Bring fresh ideas, new technologies, and cultural inspiration into future cycles
Continuously raise the creative bar across the portfolio
Preferred Qualifications
10 years leading experiential, environmental, festival, themed entertainment, or large-scale public creative work
A portfolio that demonstrates bold taste, world-building instincts, and emotionally resonant physical experiences
Deep understanding of music culture, audience energy, and what fans remember most
Able to think strategically at an executive level while guiding teams into execution
Strong instincts for aesthetics, storytelling, guest behavior, and cultural relevance
Comfortable operating fast, leading through ambiguity, and making decisions under pressure
Proven experience delivering standout work within real budget constraints
This position is hybrid in Los Angeles, CA, with at least four days in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely one day a week.
