POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Non-Exempt (Hourly)BENEFITS: Company sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; flexible spending account and 401(k)JOB SUMMARYThe Paint Prep Technician is responsible for safely preparing aircraft parts including but not limited to mixing of paint, masking, sanding, cleaning, tracking. The Paint Prep Technician works under minimal supervision according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures. REPORTS TOThe Paint Prep Technician directly reports to the Assembly Supervisor.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITIONEducation, Training, and/or Experience U.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum two (2) years of experience in Paint or Paint Prep preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, crouch and kneel for extended periods of timeFrequently sit without support Regularly required to use eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, and manual dexterityRegularly required to twist and reach to shoulder levelRegularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistanceSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusHearing level within normal/average rangeESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIESTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Proficient in the usage of hand tools and equipment associated with the paint prep process including DA orbital sander & sanding blockAbility to prep areas for paint with minimal rework Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentationAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain techniques, time requirements and quality standards on a consistent on-going basisAbility to work with/around fiberglass, resins, etc.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Perform all paint prep functions to include masking, sanding, cleaning, tracking, livery layout, maintenance marking application and detailMonitor and verify quality in accordance with industry standardsManage time and work flow through personal work area with directionMaintain a safe, organized, FOD-free work area with a focus on lean principles as instructedWork with or in the presence of hazardous chemicals, resins, and fiberglass as required (PPE provided as necessary)Perform other duties as assigned
