JOB SUMMARY
The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for safely preparing aircraft parts including but not limited to mixing of paint, masking, sanding, cleaning, tracking. The Paint Prep Technician works under minimal supervision according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures.

The Paint Prep Technician directly reports to the Assembly Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in Paint or Paint Prep preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, crouch and kneel for extended periods of time
- Frequently sit without support
- Regularly required to use eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity
- Regularly required to twist and reach to shoulder level
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Specific vision abilities include close, color, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing level within normal/average range
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Proficiency in use of hand tools and paint prep processing equipment (e.g., DA orbital sander, sanding block)
- Ability to prep areas for paint with minimal rework
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain techniques, time requirements and quality standards on a consistent ongoing basis
- Ability to work with/around fiberglass, resins, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Execute all paint preparation processes including masking, sanding, and surface preparation/cleaning
- Track jobs and complete livery layout, maintenance marking application, and final detailing
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with industry standards
- Manage time and workflow through personal work area with direction
- Maintain a safe, organized and FOD-free work area with a focus on lean principles as instructed
- Work with or in the presence of hazardous chemicals, resins, and fiberglass as required (PPE provided)
- Other duties as assigned

Salary : $18 - $26
