Responsibilities/Duties Ensures all vessel engineers are properly trained, qualified, and comply with a regulatory training and/or certification requirements.
Port Engineer will respond to all discrepancies and deficiencies in a timely manner. Supervises the timely and cost effective maintenance, repair, modifications, and refurbishment projects of existing fleet. In consultation with the VP of Engineering develops dry-docking specifications, vendor bid packages, and evaluation projects. Monitors the contractor and/or shipyard during maintenance and repair projects. Conducts on-site surveys of vessels and equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs. Makes repair recommendations to VP Engineering. Analyzes problems and interfaces with appropriate operations personnel. Other duties as assigned.

- Familiar with ABS - Sub M rules and regulations.
- 2-3 years shipyard repair experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience at sea as an engineer (Chief Engineer is highly preferred).
- Port Engineering experience in the maritime industry required.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Result oriented problem solving ability.
- Ability to climb, crawl, pull, push, lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs.)
- Ability to operate company vehicles and field tools.
- Ability to multi task, and apply sound judgment when evaluating situations.
- Must be able to satisfy all USCG Chemical Drug Testing Programs for Vessel personnel and pass a USCG physical examination and HPE.
- TWIC required
- Experience using computerized preventive maintenance programs
- 25% Travel is required
