Key responsibilities
- Assembly: Position, align, and fasten components to create subassemblies or finished products. This often includes assembly of bodies and tanks to chassis, installing electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical parts like compartment doors, trays, steps, auxiliary tanks along with tarps, webbing etc.
- Specification Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, written specifications, and written instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
- Quality Control/Inspection: Perform visual inspections of personal work and components to ensure they meet basic quality standards and identify defects.
Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to verify functionality, identify defects, and ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Tool and equipment use: Operate various hand tools, power tools, and machinery relevant to the assembly process.
- Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area (adhering to 5S standards), and perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Documentation: Complete basic production and quality paperwork or checklists as required, documenting issues, or applying labels to finished products according to company procedures.
- Testing: Operate and test completed assemblies to confirm they are functioning correctly and meet prescribed standards.
