Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- Review project documents – Read contract drawings and specifications to understand project requirements before starting work
- Build concrete formwork – Construct and install forms that will shape poured concrete structures
- Erect scaffolding systems – Set up scaffolding for building access, including ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways
- Install concrete chutes – Position and secure chutes for controlled concrete pouring
- Construct temporary shelters – Build weather protection and temporary structures as needed on site
- Direct equipment operators – Use hand signals to guide operators for precise material placement and alignment
- Support the project team – Attend site meetings, share updates, and take on additional construction tasks as assigned by your Foreman or Superintendent
- Work safely – Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Experience:
- 3 years of carpentry experience (preferred)
- Carpenter apprenticeship training is a plus
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Solid grasp of basic math
- Able to plan your work and select the right tools
- Good communication and teamwork
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to problem-solve on the fly
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Work is often performed outside under any type of weather conditions. Exposure to varying degrees/amounts of heat, cold, dust, dampness, ice, precipitation, and mud. Must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects and materials; lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively to meet the physical demands of our industry. Stand or walk, stoop kneel crouch and crawl for long periods of time must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction.
