MedNorthwest is a concierge internal medicine practice looking to hire an outstanding administrative assistant. This is a unique position where we take your excellent administrative skills and fully train you to be a registered medical assistant, performing a wide range of duties, including medical transcription, blood drawing, giving vaccines, taking vital signs, scheduling patients, ordering tests, and handling the full range of medical assistant duties. There is also a path to becoming a certified medical assistant in Washington State after one year of employment through our apprenticeship program.
We are located on First Hill next to Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Minimum Requirements:
- Willing to undergo in depth training to become a registered medical assistant in Washington State.
- Extremely neat, clean, healthy, professional appearance.
- Highly accurate and very good attention to detail. Quick learner. Someone with excellent focus and concentration, not prone to errors or mistakes. Able to work in a complicated medical environment.
- Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills. We have a clientele that requires the highest standards in service and attention.
- Excellent typist, good administrative ability.
- Very reliable and punctual. Strong work ethic. Team oriented.
- Near perfect attendance. Minimal issues with absenteeism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interested in stable, long-term employment and demonstrates stable job history.
- Computer literate. Microsoft office.
- Adaptable, flexible, good at mastering new skills. Good multi-tasker.
- A 100% team player who consistently goes above and beyond the minimum, who works hard and gets along extremely well with co-workers.
The job duties include both front and back office:
- Working at the front desk area, handling phones, greeting patients.
- Transcribing dictated chart notes and letters.
- After training, performing blood drawing, injections, vital signs, EKGs, assisting with procedures.
- Ordering supplies, maintaining office equipment, appearance, etc.
- Handling forms and other requests from insurance companies.
- Building relationships with patients, serving as their advocate.
- Providing fantastic support to the rest of the staff.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Serving as executive assistant for special projects.
- This is a M-F 8:30 - 5:00 PM position.
You will be working with a team of several other medical assistants. We are a smaller office, significantly lower in volume than most medical settings, with care provided over the phone or via email as well as in person. We have extremely high standards of customer service. We're looking for a very professional, very high level employee who can handle a challenging job. The position requires a lot of front office and administrative work.
Benefits include paid vacation, health insurance, 3 weeks of PTO, and transportation/parking allowance. Salary review and possible increase after 1 year. Also, 401(k) with employer contribution after 1 year.
Starting salary is $30/ hour for applicants without certification, but we do pay up to $35/hour for certified medical assistants with five or more years of experience, and so there is room to grow in the position.
