Position Overview
Daniel Morgan Technology Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer to support the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of student, program, and accountability data for a dynamic Career and Technical Education (CTE) environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with PowerSchool, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to extract, validate, and transform data into meaningful reports for state, federal, district, and internal stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, supporting data-driven decision-making, and strengthening program accountability and performance outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with PowerSchool.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience generating reports for educational, state, or federal accountability purposes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE) or K–12 education environments.
- Knowledge of Perkins V accountability measures and South Carolina CTE reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with state student information systems and accountability platforms.
- Experience creating automated reporting processes and dashboards.
Essential Responsibilities
Data Extraction & Reporting
- Extract student, enrollment, attendance, credentialing, assessment, concentrator/completer, and demographic data from PowerSchool and other data systems.
- Develop, maintain, and automate Excel spreadsheets and reporting tools for:
- State CTE reporting
- Federal accountability reporting
- Perkins reporting requirements
- Credential attainment tracking
- Enrollment and performance dashboards
- District and board presentations
- Prepare accurate data submissions for state and federal agencies within established deadlines.
- Verify and audit data for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Data Management & Analysis
- Design and maintain organized data systems and reporting structures.
- Identify trends and provide data insights to leadership teams.
- Create visual dashboards, charts, and summaries for administrative use.
- Support grant reporting and workforce development initiatives through accurate data analysis.
