We seek an experienced, full-time Maintenance Technician to add to our team. As a Maintenance Technician the work day will consist of hands‐on, daily maintenance duties at the properties.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and repairs of apartment units as well as common areas and exterior grounds.
- Responding to assigned tenant maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Cleaning common areas and select apartments on unit turns.
- Performing minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, lock changes, drywall installation/repair, interior/exterior painting, cleaning, etc.
- Must be familiar with plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
Requirements:
- Able to work full-time, 5 days per week between Mondays and Saturdays.
- Able to take after-hours calls.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Plumbing, boiler and electrical knowledge a plus.
- Have use of a car. Job requires driving to the scatter site properties on a daily basis. Properties in north side of Chicago.
- Must be comfortable using computers, smartphones and internet.
- Self-starter who sticks with projects to ensure execution.
- Enjoy keeping many balls in the air within a high-paced, high-demand environment.
- Professional and calm when talking to team members and residents.
- Very organized and a finisher.
