- Experience Level
- Successful completion of student teaching is the minimum
- Education background
- Proper Pennsylvania certification in subject/special field area
- B.S. or B.A. Degree is the minimum
- The individual's credentials are in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations governing individuals functioning in the capacity of this position.
- Plan and deliver instruction
- Encourage all students to learn well
- Maintain and report information on pupil progress
- Teach the subjects required in the curriculum and planned course documents as assigned by the middle school principal in accordance with the district's proposed schedule
- Prepare written lesson plans as a basis for the day's activities
- Perform such general building duties as prescribed by the principal
- Provide supervision in the halls during the passing of classes
- Follow the procedure prescribed in the handbook in regard to fire drills, report cards, eligibility reports, failures, etc.
- Attend all faculty, team and department meetings as required by the principal
- Participate in all in-service and training activities
- Comply with requests and recommendations of the department chairpersons
- Plan and initiate parent-teacher conferences when desirable
- Contribute to the development of the annual instructional budget
- Perform such additional responsibilities as may be determined by the Board of School Directors and the district administration
