Position Overview

We are looking for a versatile and dependable Maintenance Helper to assist with light to medium maintenance duties and provide janitorial support as needed. This role requires adaptability, as responsibilities will vary based on production and facility needs. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Support:

• Assist in basic repairs and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any issues to the Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Manager.
• Help with lubrication, adjustments, and minor part replacements on machinery.
• Maintain and organize tools, parts, and supplies in the maintenance department.
• Assist in setting up and moving equipment or materials as needed.

Janitorial & Facility Upkeep:

• Support janitorial staff by cleaning work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary workspace.
• Collect and dispose of trash, scrap materials, and recyclables using appropriate disposal methods.
• Assist in floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and handling spills.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
• Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and maintenance supplies.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience & Skills:
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in maintenance and repairs.
• Prior maintenance and/or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs under supervision.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable with bending, climbing, stooping, and working at heights.
• Exposure to loud environments, dust, heat, and outdoor conditions as needed.
• Work Schedule:
• Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
