The primary function of this position is to operate the unwrapper machines.
This is a 3rd Shift position, Sunday through Thursday.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform necessary service functions for Unwrapper Operator
- Verify that the spray system is working properly
- Verify that the OD monitoring system is working properly
- Verify that the eddy current system is working properly
- Check the MEK ink level and refill as needed
- Verify the quality of tape packs
- Verify defects are marked out by the spray system
- Inspect the tape as it is unwrapping
- Cut out defects in tape and bond tape back together
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Assist other operators when possible
- Cross train for flexibility
- Work within all safety and quality guidelines
- Perform other duties as necessary
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year manufacturing experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal personnel and external personnel
- Frequent dealing with reels and the unrapper is only moderately large.
- Workspace is very loud and hot, near autoclave.
- Risk of pinching when loading/unloading reels; use caution and gloves.
- Safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes required at all times.
- Gloves required when moving reels, handling knives.
- OD tape for quality checks.
- Allen Wrench (to remove barrel inside machine)
- Crescent Wrench/ screwdriver
- Drill (to remove tape pack)
- Bonder (to melt/glue tape strips together)
- Hoist (to move full tape packs)
- Entire shift is spent walking or standing.
- Some heavy lifting: Moving autoclave reels, which are approximately 6 ft. tall.
- Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
