Structural Engineer, P.E. (Senior/Principal Level)
Location: Austin, TX or Tampa, FL
Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 base performance bonus equity participation
Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Structural Engineer, P.E. to play a critical leadership role in a growing engineering platform with a strong pipeline of infrastructure and industrial work. This is a high-impact position designed for an experienced professional who wants influence, upside, and autonomy—not just another seat.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong client relationships (or a book of business), preferably with experience in water and wastewater infrastructure or electrical. This role has a clear path to equity ownership and long-term leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on complex structural projects
- Lead structural design for industrial, municipal, and infrastructure projects, with emphasis on water/wastewater facilities
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and designers
- Participate in business development, client management, and proposal efforts
- Leverage existing client relationships to support revenue growth (preferred)
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams
- Review plans, calculations, and specifications for quality and compliance
- Support expansion into new markets and service lines as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (multi-state preferred)
- 10 years of structural engineering experience
- Existing client relationships or book of business
- Strong background in structural analysis and design (steel, concrete, foundations)
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Proven leadership and project management capability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure, including:
- Treatment plants
- Pump stations
- Lift stations
- Industrial process structures
- Experience working with municipalities or public agencies
- Prior leadership or principal-level role in an engineering firm
- Interest in long-term equity ownership and firm growth
Compensation and Incentives
- Base Salary: $200,000–$250,000
