The Dane County Office of Criminal Justice has a full-time (1.0 FTE) project vacancy for a Community Court Case Manager position in Madison, WI.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, provides direct service case management to participants of the Dane County Community Court. This position assesses participant needs and eligibility and connects them with identified resources. This position also implements, monitors, and reports participant compliance with court objectives, as ordered by the Community Court Judge.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Complete screening and assessment to determine eligibility, risk, and needs of individuals referred to Community Court. Develop participant program agreements outlining objectives participants need to complete to resolve their criminal case(s). Monitor participant’s compliance with program agreements and conditions, as ordered by the Community Court Judge. Connect participants with community resources and conduct collateral contacts. Complete and submit progress and violation reports to the Court, District Attorney’s Office, and Defense Attorney in a timely manner. Attend all Community Court meetings, staffing, and hearings. Maintain accurate case notes in case management software. Communicate participant progress with justice stakeholders and official documents.

Education, Training and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, etc.) and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time work experience in the pre-mentioned areas.

Ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relating to the target population. Knowledge of current human service philosophies and approaches such as self-determination, person-centered planning, community inclusion, and trauma-informed care. Knowledge of and experience applying case management methods, techniques and policies. Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external parties involved. Knowledge of computer-based applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other related software. Ability to use a computer to generate reports, complete forms, and document case activity. Ability to prepare and maintain complex records and reports. Ability to maintain an excellent standard of customer service driven by a compassionate, empathetic, and diplomatic approach.

Undesirable Hours Premium Pay: Employees may receive undesirable hours pay of $2.00 for anytime worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m and for anytime on Saturday and/or Sunday. (not applicable with all employee groups).
Paid Parental Leave: Dane County also provides 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birth or adoption of a child.
Caregiver Leave: Dane County offers 80 hours of paid leave to care for an ill family member.
Telecommuting: Telecommuting allows employees to work remotely for all or part of their workweek. Dane County considers telecommuting to be a viable, flexible option when both the employee and the job are suited to such an arrangement. Dane County will permit telecommuting when it benefits the productivity of the employee and their department and if determined by employee's department that telecommuting is not detrimental to either the County or the employee.
