dancker, a premier interiors integrator, is seeking a Business Development Leader for our ForBuild business unit, delivering specialty construction solutions. This leader will be instrumental in elevating dancker’s position in the market, going beyond modular construction to offer a broader spectrum of architectural and interior solutions. The ideal candidate will foster strong relationships with architects, owners, general contractors, and other industry professionals to drive long-term business growth. By thinking like a specialty contractor, you will identify and pursue opportunities in modular/prefabricated construction, casework, acoustical solutions, interior glazing, architectural specialties and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Drive ForBuild's growth by identifying new opportunities across the entire construction spectrum to include in modular/prefabricated construction, casework, acoustical solutions, interior glazing, architectural specialties, and more.
- Client Relationships: Leverage and expand your network of industry contacts, including architects, developers, general contractors, and other key stakeholders, to generate project leads and cultivate long-term client partnerships.
- Sales Leadership: Act as a solutions-oriented sales leader, guiding clients through dancker’s full range of services (specialty construction, furniture, A/V technology, logistics, lab solutions, and more). Demonstrate expertise in matching customer needs with creative, construction-focused solutions.
- Pipeline Development: Build and manage a stable, multi-million-dollar pipeline of high-quality project opportunities, ensuring alignment with ForBuild’s strategic goals.
- Innovative Solutions: Promote dancker’s value as an integrator by focusing on construction innovation and architectural products.
- Market Insight: Stay informed on trends and opportunities in the NJ and NY construction and real estate markets, positioning ForBuild to seize new opportunities.
- Thought Leadership: Maintain active memberships in relevant professional organizations and attend industry events to keep ForBuild at the forefront of market discussions and developments.
- Education or training in Construction Management, Architecture/Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in construction, engineering, real estate, or related fields, with a strong focus on the NJ/NY market.
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining high-level client relationships and delivering business growth.
- Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of the commercial construction industry, including modular/prefabricated products, architectural elements, interior and tenant fit out.
- Sales & Solutions Mindset: Proven ability to identify customer needs and present comprehensive solutions that address both immediate and long-term project goals. Ability to achieve an annual sales target of $10-15 million.
- Collaborative Focus: Experience working across departments and fostering a collaborative, unified approach to project development.
