Dancing Marlin is a popular neighborhood restaurant in Frankfort, Illinois that features a seasonally changing, “from scratch” menu. We highlight a “sharing” concept with an American-themed cuisine that is diverse but features seafood. Drink menus feature tap wines and craft cocktails. Server Job Responsibilities
- Taking orders: You will be responsible for taking guests’ orders and answering any questions they may have about the menu or the restaurant. Order must be taken their orders carefully. inquire about any allergies they may have to assist in guiding them away from specific menu items.
- Offering menu recommendations: You’ll provide guests with menu recommendations based on their preferences and dietary restrictions, ensuring a personalized dining experience that exceeds their expectations.
- Upselling and suggestive selling: Besides taking orders, a server may be expected to use suggestive selling techniques to promote specials, add-ons or premium items to enhance the guest experience.
- Serving food and drinks: You will ensure that every dish and drink is prepared and presented with high quality and consistency, according to the guests’ orders.
- Customer service: A server must have exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to greet guests warmly, anticipate their needs and provide personalized attention throughout the meal.
- Attention to detail: Exceptional service requires great attention to detail, including proper table settings, food presentation and maintaining table cleanliness through proactive pre-bussing. Your attention to detail will ensure a positive dining experience.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication is key to effectively performing your server responsibilities. This involves taking orders accurately, explaining menu items and providing recommendations.
- Teamwork: Great service is a team effort, and servers must be able to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, other servers and management to provide an exceptional dining experience for guests.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus: Servers must have a strong understanding of food, wine, and cocktails, including preparation methods, ingredients and flavor profiles.
Server Requirements and Qualifications
- Prior serving experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant required (2 years)

As a server, your pay will greatly depend on your experience and service skills. Our top servers typically make $200-$300 per shift. We are looking for part-time with the possible opportunity for full time in the future. Friday-Monday availability is required.
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
