What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ballet Instructor position at Dance Unlimited?
Dance Unlimited, a dance studio with locations in Hamden and Branford Connecticut is seeking a qualified professional to teach ballet classes in their Hamden location beginning in July as well as September in both locations. The candidate will teach students ages 6-18 and be part of their ballet program, currently consisting of five levels of sequential training, and all affiliated faculty. The ideal candidate will also oversee the development of an age and skill appropriate pre-pointe/pointe class offering and will have the opportunity to contribute choreography for select competition dancers at the studio Including our Nutcracker The candidate is expected to maintain a rigorous ballet program that is professionally managed and rooted in classical technique, but modified to fit the needs of the competition studio and the modern competition dancer.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a pre-professional or professional training background in ballet, and at least five years of teaching experience. The candidate will be detail-oriented, willing to work collaboratively with the other dedicated faculty at the studio, and possess clear communication skills and professionalism in and outside the classroom.
Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred, and an ability to develop and maintain a curriculum that is physiologically appropriate is paramount.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
