Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating different dance styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary movements.
- Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve their technique while ensuring a fun and supportive atmosphere.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect, discipline, and positive interactions among students.
- Provide personalized tutoring and feedback to help students achieve their individual goals in dance proficiency.
- Incorporate creative elements such as photography or sewing into lessons to enhance students’ understanding of performance arts and costume design.
- Adapt teaching methods for children with special needs or those in early childhood education settings to ensure inclusive participation.
- Plan special performances or showcases that allow students to demonstrate their progress and build confidence in front of an audience.
Skills
- Strong background in various dance styles including ballet, theater, and contemporary dance techniques.
