Dance Connection is looking for a behind-the-scenes videographer to capture the excitement, energy, and magic of our annual recital! This is a contractor position perfect for someone who loves telling a story through video and creating beautiful, marketing-ready lifestyle content.

- Saturday, June 6 7:00-10:00pm
- Sunday, June 7 8:00am-12:00pm
- Monday, June 8 4:00-8:00pm
- Wednesday, June 10 5:00-9:00pm
- Saturday, June 13 3:00-9:00pm
- Sunday, June 14 9:00am-3:00pm
Position Details:
- Location: CM Performing Arts Center, Oakdale, NY
- Pay: $28/hr, contractor
- Equipment: Must provide your own professional video camera (or high-quality mirrorless/DSLR setup) and computer.
- Footage Delivery: Upload all footage to Dropbox before leaving the venue at the end of your shift.
What You’ll Do:
- Capture behind-the-scenes video clips throughout the venue — in the audience, lobby, backstage, and more.
- Focus on capturing short clips (10–60 seconds) that highlight the energy, emotion, and atmosphere of recital day.
- Engage with dancers, parents, and staff to get authentic and vibrant moments on video.
- Think like an artist — frame each shot with an eye for composition, background, lighting, and storytelling.
- Focus on quality over quantity — we want a strong collection of usable, exciting footage, not just a ton of random clips.
- Be proactive in moving throughout the venue and documenting all aspects of the recital experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- A videographer with an eye for capturing candid moments and setting up well-composed, intentional shots.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and thoughtfully considers angles, lighting, and details.
- A people person — you’re comfortable interacting with dancers and families to get engaging footage.
- Experience in event, lifestyle, or marketing videography preferred.
- Must be reliable, organized, and able to meet same-day Dropbox upload requirement.
