What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scoreboard/Livestream Scorebug Operator position at Danbury Westerners?
The Scoreboard/Livestream Score Bug Operator’s duty is to update the scoreboard and score bug immediately after each pitch, ensuring the proper recording of balls, strikes and outs. In addition, for each team the operator must properly record the runs scored in each inning plus the cumulative hits and errors for the game. The operator must also display on the scoreboard the uniform number of each batter and the official scorer’s hit or error decision on questionable plays. On the livestream score bug the operator must show the proper location of each baserunner. All Westerner games are livestreamed on ESPN or The NECBL Network. Westerner livestreams are among the most professional in the NECBL and must remain so.
In order to complete duties, the individual must have a good understanding of the rules of baseball and maintain focus on the game. They must be organized, prepared and concentrate on their duties throughout the game.
