Danbury Square Box Company, a 120-year-old, 5th-generation corrugated packaging manufacturer, is seeking a Field Service Representative to serve as a key link between our customers and our manufacturing team.
In this role, you will work closely with customers to understand their packaging needs, develop customized corrugated packaging solutions, support design initiatives, and help grow customer relationships. You will spend time both in the office and visiting customer locations, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and working directly with people.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, packaging requests, and project updates.
- Visit customer facilities to review packaging requirements, take measurements, and identify opportunities for packaging improvements.
- Assist customers with packaging design concepts and collaborate with internal estimating, design, and production teams to develop solutions.
- Bringing designs from concept to production.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts and support new business development efforts.
- Coordinate with production, scheduling, and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Troubleshoot packaging issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and customer requests professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate customer and project records within company systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, sales, manufacturing, or packaging preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working with SAE and metric measurements, dimensions, and basic mathematics.
- Ability to understand and communicate packaging specifications and design concepts.
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Base salary of $40,000 - 42,000 per year, based on experience
- Commission opportunities for new business development and account growth
