Position Summary
We are seeking Elementary Classroom Teacher for the 20252026 school year to serve students in grades K5. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment; implement high-quality instruction aligned to curriculum standards; and support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. Teachers must demonstrate a commitment to equity, student-centered learning, and ongoing professional growth.

Responsibilities
- Deliver standards-based instruction in core subject areas including literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Create a supportive, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes learning for all students
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English learners and students with IEPs/504s
- Utilize formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and track student progress
- Establish clear routines, expectations, and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly classroom
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to plan and implement effective instruction
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Participate in school-based teams, professional development, and data-driven planning sessions
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and student learning
- Support the social-emotional development of students through positive behavior strategies and responsive practices
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documentation
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional practices
- Ability to create and implement engaging lessons that support a range of learners
- Effective classroom management and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of curriculum standards and assessment strategies
- Experience with culturally responsive teaching and inclusive practices
- Connecticut State Department of Education Elementary Certification (013)
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Experience working in a diverse, urban school setting preferred
- Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning tools
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
