Role Description
- Plan and design duct and MH systems that meet project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations
- Work with clients to determine project scope
- Obtain permits for projects and manage through design, construction, and as-built phases
- Develop electrical underground utility construction systems and single-line diagrams
- Attend project meetings (monthly, weekly, etc.)
- Periodic travel to customer sites including vaults, MH, substations, and related facilities
- Position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex projects while utilizing CAD and design tools in a collaborative environment
Education
- BSEE, BSCE, or equivalent degree with emphasis on underground utility design, construction, and operation
- Experience and/or training with major CAD systems (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) for designing underground electrical systems
Experience
- 10 years designing underground low, medium, and high voltage electrical utility systems, including duct and MH systems, transformer vaults, cable, and related underground utility plant
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety and operational procedures for working on and near energized facilities
- Proficiency with NESC, NEC, and related codes and regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
