Role Description
This is a hybrid, full-time Paralegal role located in Hartford, CT. The Paralegal will assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, drafting, editing legal documents, and reviewing case files. Primary responsibilities include organizing and maintaining case files, preparing trial materials, and supporting attorneys with hearings, depositions, and trials. Additionally, the Paralegal will communicate with clients, gather case information, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in legal document preparation and review, including contracts, pleadings, and other court-related materials
- Strong research skills to gather, analyze, and organize legal and factual information
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to liaise with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court personnel
- Foundational knowledge of legal principles and practices, including familiarity with court procedures and legal terminology
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and case management software
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Paralegal Studies or a related field; paralegal certification preferred
- Previous experience in civil defense litigation, especially in medical malpractice or insurance cases, is a plus
