Where and how you’ll work

• Location: On-site in Coralville, Iowa
• Department: Chemical Processing Reagents
• Reporting to: Chemical Processing Supervisor
• Schedule: Thursday – Sunday, 4:00pm – 3:00am (shift differential applies)

A day in this role

You start your shift reviewing work orders in the ERP, verify inventory positions, and queue production. On the floor, you dispense raw materials with precision, follow established manufacturing and storage procedures, and document each step. Mid-shift, you analyze scale readouts and BCMS scripts to confirm in-process quality, adjusting as needed. If a quality or delivery issue pops up, you dive into the data to troubleshoot. You close the night by packaging product, transferring materials in the system, and supporting regulated waste handling. When called upon, you join the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team to keep colleagues and the environment safe.

What you’ll do

• Use the ERP to monitor inventories, schedule and create work orders, transfer materials, and decrement usage
• Dispense and change materials for production; adhere to SOPs for manufacturing, storage, and transportation of chemicals
• Handle regulated waste in compliance with internal processes and regulations; actively participate on the Hazardous Material Spill Response Team
• Collect, interpret, and analyze data from scale readouts and BCMS scripts; troubleshoot quality and delivery issues as they arise

What you’ll bring

• Education: Associate degree in a STEM field
• Certifications (required or ability to obtain): HAZWOPER 24hr–Technician Certification (requiring medically fit to participate in IDT’s Respirator Program), RCRA awareness certification, and certified Powered Industrial Truck Operator
• Respiratory readiness: The ability to be medically clear and adhere to IDT’s Respiratory Program is a condition of employment and continued employment; testing, passing, and being fitted for respirator use is required as part of standard PPE

Physical/environment requirements

• Very Heavy - Exert 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 50 lbs. of force frequently

Preferred experience

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field
• Independent decision-making when mixing bulk chemicals and troubleshooting equipment without direct supervisor input
• Comfort with basic chemistry and mathematics, including unit conversions for in-process adjustments
