Powder Coating Technician

Position Summary

The Powder Coating Technician is responsible exclusively for the application of powder coating to speaker components. This position focuses on operating powder coating equipment, coating parts to specification, and ensuring a high-quality finish. All preparation or taping work is performed by another team — this role is strictly powder coating application.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate powder coating spray guns to apply powder to speaker components.
• Ensure consistent and even coverage according to color, texture, and finish specifications.
• Load coated parts into the curing oven and monitor cure cycles (temperature/time).
• Inspect coated parts after coating and curing to ensure finish quality (coverage, texture, thickness).
• Adjust spray gun settings, air pressure, powder flow, and spray patterns based on part requirements.
• Track powder usage and report low inventory to the Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of spray booth area and comply with all safety and 5S standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3 year of powder coating experience preferred.
• Ability to understand color and finish quality expectations.
• Ability to stand throughout shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using manual powder coating spray guns (Nordson, Wagner, Gema, etc.).
• Experience measuring coating thickness with gauges.

Work Environment

Exposure to heat, powder particles, and industrial equipment. PPE (respirator, gloves, eye protection) is required.
