About DANA Brain Vital

DANA Brain Vital™ is an FDA-cleared, HIPAA-compliant neurocognitive assessment tool known as the Brain Thermometer. It runs on any iOS or Android device, administers in under 5 minutes, and is reimbursable through commercial and federal payers.

Validated by the Department of Defense, NASA, the VA, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Columbia, and more than 20 research institutions. Backed by 23 peer-reviewed publications. DANA measures cognitive processing speed, reaction time, memory, and psychological state, providing clinicians with objective and trackable data to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and outcomes data.

We are building our clinical delivery team in North Texas. The Clinical Assessment Specialist is the person who makes DANA work inside a practice, running assessments, supporting interpretation, and ensuring that every patient encounter is documented cleanly and billed correctly.

What You Will Do:

Administer Assessments

  • Administer DANA assessments to patients in the clinic or via telehealth and remote protocols.
  • Guide patients through the assessment experience clearly and comfortably to ensure valid test completion.
  • Coordinate scheduling and assessment workflows with clinical and administrative staff at partner practices.
  • Ensure that all assessments are conducted within the appropriate clinical and compliance framework established by the practice.

Support Documentation and EHR Management:

  • Review and summarize DANA assessment results for provider review, including scoring comparisons against general population data and prior patient baselines.
  • Flag clinically significant findings, such as notable reaction time changes, executive function gaps, or trend declines, for qualified provider review.
  • Prepare clear and structured result summaries suitable for inclusion in the patient medical record and EHR or EMR system.
  • Export and organize reports from the DANA web portal for provider documentation.

Support Billing:

  • Support accurate CPT code documentation for assessments administered.
  • Ensure that medical record documentation meets payor requirements, including assessment name, date, administrator credentials, face-to-face time, and clinical rationale.
  • Work with practice billing staff to support clean claim submission and minimize denials.

Support Account Services:

  • Partner with the Sales Strategist to ensure that new accounts activate smoothly and begin generating assessment revenue quickly.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for practice staff, answering workflow questions and training medical assistants or support staff on assessment administration protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen DANA utilization within existing accounts by surfacing additional patient populations or clinical use cases.
  • Provide frontline feedback to the broader team on clinical workflow friction, documentation gaps, and account-level needs.

What you Bring:

Required:

  • Medical Assistant (MA), LPN, or equivalent clinical credential; or a bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, health sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting such as a physician office, outpatient clinic, behavioral health practice, or similar environment.
  • Comfort administering standardized assessments or clinical protocols and documenting results accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline. You understand that clean records protect both the patient and the practice.
  • Clear and professional communication skills with both clinical providers and patients.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple practice locations and adapt to varying office workflows.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with neurocognitive, psychological, or neuropsychological assessment administration, such as the MoCA, MMSE, PHQ-9, PCL-5, or similar instruments.
  • Familiarity with CPT billing codes
  • Experience working in psychiatry, behavioral health, pain management, neurology, or primary care settings.
  • Familiarity with EHR and EMR systems and clinical documentation workflows.
  • A genuine interest in the intersection of technology, neuroscience, and clinical care. You are curious about what the data means, not just how to collect it.

Base Salary

Competitive hourly rate ($20-25) or salary ($40k-50k) commensurate with experience and credentials

Bonuses

Performance bonuses tied to account activation and assessment volume targets

Benefits

Health, dental, and vision (full-time W-2)

Training

Full DANA platform onboarding, billing education, and ongoing clinical support provided

Why this Role?

  • You are joining as part of DANA's founding clinical delivery team, the people who establish how assessments are administered and documented across every practice we work with.
  • Full training is provided. You do not need to know DANA on day one; you need the clinical foundation and the drive to learn quickly.
  • You will work at the intersection of clinical care and commercial impact. Every clean assessment you run and every well-documented result directly enables a practice to bill, a provider to make better decisions, and a patient to receive better care.
  • The mission is meaningful: earlier detection of cognitive and psychological changes, better treatment tracking, and improved outcomes in psychiatry, pain management, and primary care.
  • There is a clear growth path. As DANA scales nationally, Clinical Assessment Specialists who help build the protocols today will move into senior clinical, training, and operations roles.

Please send your resume along with a brief note describing your clinical background and any experience you have with standardized assessment administration or clinical documentation.
