Job Purpose
Description / Requirements:
Material Handlers help ensure we safely and accurately transport materials and finished goods throughout the plant to our customers.
*This is a second shift position, with varying 8-12 hour shifts based on customer demands. The shift start time is 3pm*
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport materials and inventory to assigned locations using various methods such as forklift, tugger, pallet jack, etc.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Conduct cycle counts, which includes verifying accuracy of quantity of materials
- Load finished goods for shipment to customers with industrial truck / material handling equipment
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing & walking
- Written and verbal communication skills
