POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Range Manager, a Grounds Maintenance position at Dan and Jerry’s Greenhouses is a hands-on role with responsibility for the upkeep of the site, including exterior and interior work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):
Grounds Care:
- Overall responsibility for the exterior site appearance.
- Maintain beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces.
- Lawn mowing, trimming and weed control.
- Removal of debris and overgrowth.
- Winter snow and ice removal.
Maintenance:
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition through regular cleaning and servicing.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Periodic painting and facility repair as required.
- Other duties as assigned by Range Manager.
- Assist in greenhouse maintenance and repairs inside facility as needed.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred 2 years’ commercial and / or residential lawn maintenance experience.
- Preferred 2 years’ commercial and / or residential snow and ice removal experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to use tools such as wrench, screwdrivers, drill etc
- Ability to operate lawn mowers, snowblowers, weed eaters and other maintenance equipment.
- Capability to perform physical tasks including digging, lifting and operating machinery.
- Ability to perform work independently or alongside other team members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typically, those in this or comparable roles will spend most of their time working outside of the facility operating lawn and snow removal equipment. These tasks will come with few physical hazards. The environmental conditions will vary with the season and one can expect temperatures to be extremely hot to mild, to cold.
Frequent trips to the gas station and other service centers can be expected. Valid driver’s license required.
