What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Class A/Road Crew/Seasonal position at DAN & JERRYS GREENHOUSES)?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The seasonal Truck Driver carries a CDL Class A and transports our products in a semi, box truck, or sprinter van to our retail locations. Truck Drivers will also be responsible for transporting road crews and temporary greenhouses to our retail locations in the spring and returning them at the end of the season. Due to our seasonal business, our Truck Drivers will not be driving full time, year-round. During the downtime, drivers will participate in projects assigned throughout the greenhouse as well as general fleet maintenance. This position is from March 16-July 24, 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):
Driving Responsibilities:
- Driving semi tractor trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans to and from retail locations safely and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Maintaining accurate and compliant electronic logs.
- Pushing/pulling carts on/off automatic liftgate.
- Maintaining communication with Logistics Coordinator and/or Transportation Manager on all routes and any issues that arise on the routes, vehicles or deliveries.
- Maintaining a positive, professional and helpful attitude with customers and coworkers.
Road Crew Responsibilities:
- Safely transport greenhouses and crew to retail locations.
- Lead and participate with road crew team in set up and tear down of seasonal greenhouses at our retail locations.
- Serve as liaison between road crew and home range regarding any issues or needs that arise during greenhouse assembly.
- Coordinate lodging for road crews.
Off Season Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a positive attitude while performing fleet and facility maintenance during slower seasons.
- Be flexible in the needs that arise in the facility. Some off-season responsibilities may include:
- Basic fleet maintenance such as fueling and washes.
- Shuttling trailers and supplies between ranges.
- Snow removal during winter months.
- Warehouse duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Valid Medical Certification.
- Must be cleared to drive through the DOT Clearinghouse.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
- At least one year of successful CDL driving.
- Experience with carts and automatic lift gates preferred.
