Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. Driver will be home daily. Routes typically range from 50 miles to 150 miles. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service while managing different types of freight, including end-dump trailers and flatbeds.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to transport goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage delivery schedules and maintain accurate records of deliveries, including route details and freight documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the truck, performing basic maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety procedures and regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with various types of freight including end-dump, flatbeds, and route driving logistics.
- Strong understanding of vehicle operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems or maps for efficient route planning.
