Merchant Specialist

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Merchant Specialist role will assist in the overall business performance of defined category or seasons and develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role will support the Merchandising team by ensuring all internal and external deliverables are on track to meet established deadlines. The Merchant Specialist is someone with a strong desire to grow, learn the business while contributing to day-to-day operations and enjoys team collaboration. They will demonstrate a high energy level, seek out new tasks and be willing to help whenever asked.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Microsoft Planner for all retail and internal programs
• Ensuring retailer deck deadlines are recognized and achieved
• Track sample requests, oversee when quotes/samples are due, issue PO’s
• Manage all sample organization, shipping of samples and shipping activities for the KC office
• Be responsible for the Master Development Time and Action Calendar
• Update the spreadsheet for all retailer and internal milestones and deliverables
• Manage Seasonal development Calendars by comparing the year-over-year approach
• Schedule all meetings, may require late night or early morning with the global team
• Manage SKU level time and action calendar, including tracking SPEC releases and line lists
• Weekly, follow-up with Sales team on all retail programs
• Work closely with all Merchants and Designers to ensure internal and external deliverables are completed before established deadlines
• Create short-term and long-term plans for internal programs
• Serve as point of contact for cross-functional groups
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree required, Merchandising or Marketing focus
• 1-3 years experience in related field
• Self-motivated with excellent critical thinking skills.
• Must have the ability to multi-task.
• Must be professional, organized, detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and particularly Excel
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with stakeholder both internally and externally, and to work effectively in a team approach

PREFERRED SKILLS

• NetSuite experience a positive

ABILITY TO COMMUTE

This job is on-site in Kansas City, MO

Travel may be required up to 5%. May be international travel or domestic.
