THE ROLE
As our Tax Preparer / Senior Tax Preparer, you'll prepare and review a variety of returns for individuals and business entities, work directly alongside Dan Arnold, CPA, and contribute to a client experience that sets us apart from every traditional accounting firm in the market. You'll have real ownership over your work, a clear path to grow, and a team that shows up for each other.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare and review federal and state returns for individuals (1040), S-Corps (1120-S), partnerships (1065), and C-Corps (1120)
- Gather, organize, and analyze client tax documents and financial data- Identify tax savings opportunities and surface planning ideas proactively — not just when asked
- Manage client workflows and deadlines through Karbon; coordinate return delivery via SafeSend
- Communicate professionally with clients to request information and walk through return details
- Assist with projections, extensions, and estimated payments- Contribute to process improvement — we do things right, not just fast
- Stay current on tax law changes and apply them accurately and with confidence
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 1-4 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting or CPA firm setting
- Proficiency with Lacerte (required); experience with Karbon, SafeSend, QuickBooks, Juno, Stanford Tax, and Google Workspace is a strong plus
- Solid working knowledge of individual (1040) and business entity returns
- CPA license, EA designation, or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Clear, professional communication — you can explain a complex tax situation without making a client feel lost
- Someone who takes radical ownership — if you catch a mistake, you own it and fix it; you don't wait to be asked
