Dental Hygienist (Part-time)

Damascus Dental of Mt. Airy is a quaint yet modern solo-doctor practice located near the heart of Mount Airy, MD. We are collaborative, engaging and fun team!

Responsibilities:

• Keep patients updated on their dental health.
• Perform routine dental hygienist work (such as taking x-rays, scaling, etc).
• Provide patient education on dental hygiene.
• Maintain dental supplies and instruments.

Knowledge with Dentrix a plus, though not required!

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week, Thursdays only

License/Certification:

• Registered Dental Hygienist (Required)
• Dental License (Required)

Work Location: In person Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including teeth cleaning, scaling, and polishing
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Document patient treatment plans, progress, and notes in dental software systems (Dentrix)
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff

Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in Maryland.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene
