Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of the client’s living space through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and responses to treatments or activities
- Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare professionals, ensuring personalized support for each individual
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities as needed
- Support residents in specialized care areas such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or hospice care
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group home settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently in emergency situations
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health or behavior promptly
- Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with care plans tailored for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia-related conditions
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility challenges
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving responsibilities
