Audio-Visual (AV) Technician

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AV installations, including pulling cable, mounting displays, screens, and projectors, and troubleshooting AV equipment. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; however, schedules may vary based on project and customer requirements. Occasional overtime, weekend work, and overnight travel may be required.
This position requires travel to customer locations throughout the DC/MD/VA area, with travel accounting for up to 70% of the role. When not working at customer sites, the position will be based out of DALY's Rosedale or Frederick, MD offices.
All candidates must pass a comprehensive background and drug screening. Daly is a drug-free workplace. This position also requires reliable transportation, clean driving record, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform on-site audiovisual equipment installation for our clients, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, media rooms, audio hardware and speakers, control systems, and some programming based on experience.
· Perform cable pull-paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, crimp and terminate audio and video cables.
· Assist with installations and programming of classroom/boardroom AV automation/control systems.
· Read and interpret AV System drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
· Install low voltage wiring and cable, solder and terminate connectors, install video conferencing systems and audio-video racks.
· Assemble/disassemble appropriate supports/mounts.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Any industry certifications, such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, BICSI.
· Experience with Crestron, AMX, Extron, Kramer, Biamp, SMART, or similar systems is a plus.
· Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and work within varied conditions, some which may be small or confined.
· Must be comfortable working on ladders and on lifts as required.
· Basic understanding of AV and network test equipment.
· Maintain professional work appearance and outstanding customer interaction.
· Must possess excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing.
· Experience in structural installation of displays, screens, and projectors.
