Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Firefighter/Paramedic to join our emergency medical services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality pre-hospital care to patients in various emergency situations. This role requires quick decision-making, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. Preferred candidate will be MA State Certified Paramedic with experience or interest in learning the fire service.
Duties
- Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer basic life support and advanced live support interventions as needed.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Drive emergency vehicles safely and efficiently to transport patients to medical facilities.
- Provide triage services in emergency situations, prioritizing patient care based on severity.
- Administer injections and medications as prescribed or required by protocols.
- Conduct physical examinations and document findings accurately in patient records.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and stay updated on best practices in emergency medicine.
Requirements
- Driver's License
- Paramedic certification and state licensure in good standing
- Maintain BLS CPR and ACLS (PALS and PHTLS preferred)
- Previous Firefighter Experience Preferred
- Pro board Firefighter I/II certification Preferred
