POSITION: READING SPECIALIST
Reading Specialist needed for Elementary Position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
The preferred candidate will possess a K-12 Reading License. Candidates should have familiarity with the following reading programs: Fundations, Orton Gillingham, Read Naturally, Wilson, as well as other reading programs.
Candidates should also have experience supporting students in need of reading support at the elementary school level.
The duties of the position consist of working with students in need of reading intervention services in grades K-5 in a push in and/or pull out setting; either 1:1 or in small groups. This teacher may also support students in the classroom and work in collaboration with classroom teachers and special educators.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 Days
REPORTS TO: Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
The Salary Schedule is on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience.
Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
