What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time, 10-Month Life Skills Support Paraprofessional (Grade 7-8) position at Dallastown Area School District?
- Able to carry out oral and written instructions including those in the student's IEP to allow access to the educational environment
- Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
- Performing routine clerical work
- Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
- Full-day hours: Approximately 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, which is 7.50 working hours and a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. Your work schedule and pay will follow student attendance full and half days during the school year

- While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you'll enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family!
- For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June.

Highly Qualified = High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of an assessment through our special education department
- OR Completed at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more)
- OR Associate's Degree or higher
- Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year
- Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
- Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
- Acceptable record of attendance
