JOB SUMMARY
The Interim Individual Giving Manager is responsible for working with the Senior Director of Individual Giving and Membership in fundraising activities to temporarily maintain progress for the President’s Circle membership program. They will assist in providing detailed documentation, consistent communication, and ongoing customer service for President’s Circle members and their related giving. This is a part-time, temporary position that will require a flexible schedule (including weekend work) to support the needs of President’s Circle members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in managing the Dallas Zoo’s Annual President’s Circle member experience, providing the highest level of concierge service. This includes coordinating the fulfillment of member benefits, coordinating visits and tours, and providing members with general assistance as needed (additional tickets, parking, tours, etc.).
- Proactively interacts personally with President’s Circle members to solicit and steward membership gifts. Ensures that gifts are appropriately processed, recorded, and acknowledged and that communications are personalized whenever possible. Documents communications and maintains donor profiles in CRM.
- Works with Advancement Services team to ensure that renewal communication are generated and sent in a timely way. Monitors solicitations for accuracy, personalization, and alignment with donor strategy.
- Assists with events attended by President’s Circle members by communicating with members, taking RSVPs, and attending events when needed (expected 2-3 events total).
- Provides as-needed support for Zoo To Do operations.
- Supports the greater efforts of the Membership Team, Advancement team and of the Dallas Zoo.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.A., B.S. or equivalent degree, equivalent experience will be considered
- Two years of relevant donor relationship management experience, preferably with a nonprofit organization.
- Strong organizational ability
- Experience utilizing a CRM (Tessitura experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of professional discretion when trusted with sensitive donor information and interaction with the Zoo’s highest-level donors and volunteers.
- Proven writing and editing skills, preferably with experience in personalized correspondence.
- Excellent attention to detail and diligence to ensure accuracy
- Personable, professional presence and demeanor with the desire to engage in personal contact with donors and prospects.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Personal commitment to conservation, interest in animals, and a willingness to prioritize the mission of the Dallas Zoo.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Often works irregular hours, including weekends and some nights.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to cold and heat.
- Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. This may involve standing and/or walking for long periods of time, some lifting, carrying, moving, pushing, and/or pulling of objects/materials weighing 15-20 pounds.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with reliable transportation
