What are the responsibilities and job description for the Copier/Duplicating Equipment Operator position at Dallas VA Medical Center?
Employee will serve as a Copier/Duplicating Equipment Operator within the Medical Media Section, Education & Learning Resources Service at the VA North Texas Heath Care System, Dallas, TX.
Specialized Experience: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes setting up, operating copier computer controls with, duplicator/sorter/collator; maintain and adjust equipment; diagnose problems and achieve repairs.

Education: Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

Combination: Equivalent combinations of post-high school education and specialized experience, as described above? Note: only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. NOTE: If you select this option, you must submit a copy of your transcript with your application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.
Physical Requirements: This position requires some lifting of moderately heavy packages not to exceed 40 pounds. Travel outside the Agency may be required on occasion. Position requires bending, kneeling, standing, reaching, with frequent breaks in between tasks.

Responsibilities:
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Operating equipment, printers, scanners, binders, cutters, staplers, laminators, hole-punch presses and folders.
- Formulating reports that document workflow accuracy.
- Applying knowledge of operations including, but not limited to work planning and scheduling, product quality, safety, and training.
- Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating problems.
- Setting up, operating and adjusting color machine, black and white machines.
- Manipulating electronic files to print pre-printed documents to produce high end products on varied production/imaging systems.
- Keeping logs and records, maintenance calls, following up to assure service is performed in a timely manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
